William Raymond

I regret to inform you that Bill Raymond of the Jan '64 class passed away on Nov 10th of this year. He was very much looking looking forward to attending the reunion and seeing old friends as his high school experience was a great one. I know he will be there in spirit to celebrate with you.

Bill was a great friend.  We enjoyed many a summer day on his parents boat.  Through college we spent many hours driving back and forth between UM (me) and MSU (Bill).  He is missed.

I went to Marquette, Finney and Denby with Bill.  From the time he was a little boy, he stood out.  He had sunshine in his veins--always optimistic and seeing the best in everyone and every situation.  He was so positive and kind. He had a great sense of humor and, as I remember, a very good dancer.

Bill was my best friend at Marquette and we remained in touch even though I moved to Ohio in 1961.  There could be no better friend or nicer guy than "Willy".  He was devoted to his family and lived  life to its fullest, always ready for an adventure, a dance or a boat ride.  Lyn and his family are often in our thoughts and prayers.  We truly miss a really great guy!

Bill and I roomed together for four years and Michigan State. After school he entered the service, married Lynn and had two daughters. They all moved to Arizona and lived there until Bill and Lynn retired. A few years ago the bought a summer place on Harsen's Island. Bill passed away last fall from melanoma. He is greatly missed.
