I am so thankful that Jim and I reconnected since our reunion.  My heart breaks for his family.  I know he has struggled with illness for a time, but still think he was too young, too kind and too loved by so many.  My sincere condolences to his wife, children and grandchildren and all others.  Sorry, I could not have seen him one time.  A true friend has left all of us with many memories.

So sorry to hear of Jim's passing.  We first met in Mrs. Sager's class in the second grade in the old portable at Arthur.  I lost track of Jim after high school and only recently reconnected with him through this site.  Jim was a great friend and a very nice person all the years I knew him.  He was a good man.

I feel like little pieces of me are going away when I hear of the passing of my childhood friends.

Blessings to Jim's family and my condolences.

Jimmy you are so missed already.  It was so wonderful getting together with you this past year.  Remembering all our growing up years together shared with my brother Denny...  Merlin, looking for worms at night with a flashlight for our trip to Strawberry Island, playing flashlight tag, and steal the eggs in the neighborhood.  You are in my heart always....  Sincere condolences to the family...sad

Jim was always upbeat and positive.  Most of all he was kind, a friend to everyone.  I am glad he was a part of my teen years.

Oh no  !!!!

Jim and I have corresponded several time over the last six months.  In his last e-mail he seemed  so optimist about his cancer and was so happy about how well he was feeling after his latest treatment.  He was excited about taking a trip to Florida to see his grandchildren.  Hopefully, he did make that last trip.

Just before last Christmas I wrote to Jim and told him how inspiring he was to me.  He seemed to have such a positive attitude about his health and his life.  At that time I was struggling with my own health issues and I found that just thinking about Jim and the fight he was wagging with cancer helped give me perspective and encouragement.

Jim and I were good friends in our senior year.  One time we each had two beers before we went to a Denby Friday night dance.  We had to hold each other up and couldn't stop laughing...two beers....!!

Of course, I am greatly saddened by his passing.  But, he shall remain in my thoughs and continue to be an encouraging and inspirational force. And, in my mind's eye he will always be pictured as he was at that Denby dance......... smiling and laughing, enjoying life. ........

Thanks Jim..............Dan Brower

Since I have never had the pleasure of meeting Jim and hearing all of the remarkably beautiful comments describing what a wonderful person he was I feel an extreme sense of loss for never knowing him. We did correspond here during his treatment and he was always such an up person with a positive attitude and love of life. His wife and complete family have my sincerest sympathy, he will be terribly missed.

As I am writing this I am reminded of a song I learned one summer in my grandmothers' church in the upper pennisula. The song is called "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam". I believe Jesus needed Jim because he was such a loved man. God bless you Jim, I know you are up there now watching over your family and praying for their safety and good health.

sincerely,

Darlene

Very sad news to hear.  It was so wonderful to be reacquainted with Jim through Classmates... He was always so positive as he shared news about his illness.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.  Rest in peace my high school buddy!
